Question 1

What is Jewelry OS?

Accepted Answer

Jewelry OS is billing and stock software made only for jewelers — not adapted from a clothes or grocery shop system. It knows gold purity, making charge, wastage, and stone details. Your sales counter and back-office stock stay connected from any branch. (In industry terms: jewelry ERP and POS software.)

Question 2

Is Jewelry OS suitable for jewelry stores in Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Jewelry OS supports PKR with lakh and crore formatting, Sales Tax and invoice rules the way FBR and your accountant require (or keep it simple if you don't need tax yet), multi-city branches, and phone-first customer records — the way showrooms in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and other cities actually work.

Question 3

How is Jewelry OS different from generic retail POS?

Accepted Answer

Generic billing software treats every product as one fixed price stuck on a barcode sticker. Jewelry OS models each piece with metal type, purity, weight, making charge, wastage, and stone details — then calculates price and applies retail or wholesale customer rules at the sales counter.

Question 4

Can I manage multiple branches?

Accepted Answer

Yes. One business can have multiple branches, each with its own stock, sales counters, and reports. Branch transfers move stock between locations with an approval workflow, and stock updates automatically when transfers complete or purchase orders are received.

Question 5

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Click "Start free" to create your business account. Verify your email, set up your first branch, add your gold/silver types and products, then open the sales counter to start selling. Setup takes just a few minutes.

Question 6

Does Jewelry OS support metal-weight pricing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each product includes metal type, purity, weight, making charge, and wastage. The system calculates the selling price and applies customer-type rules (retail, wholesale, or custom) automatically at checkout.

Question 7

What payment methods does the sales counter support?

Accepted Answer

Cash is fully supported with exact amount, round-up, change, and short-by calculation. Card, UPI, and Old Gold exchange are planned and currently marked as coming soon.

Question 8

Can managers approve discounts from the sales counter?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When a cashier requests a discount above the allowed limit, a manager can approve or reject it from the dashboard. The sales counter applies the approved discount automatically — so staff cannot give big discounts without your permission.

Question 9

How does inventory tracking work?

Accepted Answer

Stock is tracked per product per branch. When you add a product you cover master details, stones, metal costing, branch stock, and photos. You can send products to the sales counter, view low-stock items, archive retired pieces, and export the catalog.

Question 10

Does Jewelry OS include customer management?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The customer book uses unique phone numbers per business. Customer types (retail, wholesale, custom pricing) affect checkout prices. Cashiers can quick-add customers from the counter without leaving a sale.

Question 11

Can I export reports?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both the dashboard and reports modules support PDF export. Reports include revenue, invoice count, stock health, and category charts. Profit and margin fields are visible only to roles with finance permissions.

Question 12

What user roles are available?

Accepted Answer

Jewelry OS includes owner/admin, branch manager, sales counter operator, and stock/production staff roles. Each role has specific permissions — for example, cashiers can sell and manage customers, while managers can approve discounts and oversee branch work.

Question 13

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Jewelry OS uses secure sign-in with role-based access. Each user's data is limited to their organization. For production deployments, use HTTPS and follow your hosting provider's security best practices.

Question 14

Do I need separate software for billing and back office?

Accepted Answer

No. Jewelry OS combines billing (POS) and business management (ERP) in one app. Owners and managers use the dashboard, stock, transfers, and reports. Cashiers use the sales counter on the same system — stock and sales stay in sync.

Question 15

What features are coming soon?

Accepted Answer

Card, UPI, and Old Gold payment methods at the sales counter, plus repairs, Old Gold exchange, and Karigar production jobs. Basic alerts are live; a fuller alert engine is planned.
